The Count Me In team enables this gentle change from silence to sound.

We support everyone to ‘hit the spot’, and find their musical potential through improvisation. We provide workshops where leadership, boundaries, tools, and ideas help you discover your own way to participate. We don’t judge, and we value all ontributions, no matter how small. We use movement, and story lines, and plenty of fun.

What makes our work different from most is the team. We work as an integrated, friendly team of musicians and service users. We will support you to play percussion and drums with us, and we will add melodeon, flute, electric guitar, bass and didgeridoo.

We offer funky, inclusive, musical fun. Progressive music sessions for everyone – young or old or in between! We can provide one-off sessions, workshops for schools, gatherings and events.

We supply all the equipment needed, provide training, advice and equipment to buy.

We are based in Somerset and can work across the West Country. We believe in an inclusive arts community and are affiliated artists of the Merlin Theatre, Frome.

WHAT CAN COUNT ME IN OFFER YOU?

The Count Me In team have been leading music workshops with adults from the learning disabled community since 2002. Our groups often include those who have restricted mobility, sensory impairments, profound and multiple disabilities. Through participation we create opportunities for communication, independence and informed choice.

Staff, families and support workers are encouraged to join in whenever possible. We offer training for support workers - with our input many new music groups have been established in resource centres.

If you would like to meet us and see how we work, we can offer a ONE-OFF ‘TASTER’ SESSION or DAY (two sessions, a.m. and p.m.). Sometimes people ask us to run one-off sessions to celebrate a special event, or follow a particular theme. Workshops are suitable for up to fifteen people, plus support workers. We supply all equipment, including drums which are accessible for wheelchair users.

Our PROGRESSIVE LEARNING COURSES run for ten weeks, one day per week. These courses can be for up to twenty five people (two groups), and include staff training and a training resource pack. Again, we supply all equipment, and can supply an evaluation report.

We can design our workshops to meet your targets and are always happy to discuss creative ideas and potential funding sources.
